A community-run boating cooperative
Shiva Poovar Boating operates under the Poovar Backwater Welfare Association, a cooperative of local boat owners and boatmen based near Karikkattu Resort in Attupuram, Poovar. For years, our members have guided visitors through the mangrove-lined canals that make this stretch of backwater unlike anywhere else in Kerala.
The association sets fixed, approved rates for every boat on the water, so every visitor — whether booking through us directly or arriving on the day — pays the same fair price for the same experience.
